09/14/2019: Announcing a New Band Collaboration

I'm so pleased to announce the formation of a new band collaboration, "Rich Owen & Mosquito Pass"!

Mosquito Pass was started by Tim Steinwinder and Mark Besocke, and were in search of a lead vocalist. I'd been looking for a band to start playing gigs again, and possibly do a tour in the near future. And thus, a partnership was formed. Tim and Mark are both great musicians, and multi-instrumental; in addition to both playing electric and accoustic guitar, they also bring keyboards, steel guitar, mandolin, and banjo to our instrumental mix. We'll be doing shows with a mix of covers and originals, as well as an all-original show when the right venue and event presents itself. Join my mailing list to be informed of upcoming shows and events. Thanks!

03/07/2019: "Tip Jar" is going strong!

Hey, ya'll. Just wanted to bring you up to date on what's going on with the new album. The response has been better than I'd hoped. In the first quarter of its release, the songs on the album have had a total of 261,450 plays/downloads! Thanks so much to all those who've been supporting the new release! I've been busy in the studio, working on some new tracks, and hope to be able to announce some big thing on the horizon. Stay tuned!

Lots to catch up on. First, The LDK Band is no more. However, to quote Maria from "The Sound of Music", when God closes a door, somewhere he opens a window. I'm proud to announce that I've signed an eclusive management and distribution deal with Solaris Entertainment and Media! More on this soon, but needless to say, this is a tremendous boost to my musical career.

07/19/2015

I competed yesterday down in Trinidad, CO, in the preliminary round of the 2015 Country Showdown. I'm pleased to announce that I took first place. This preliminary competition was sponsored by KCRT Coyote Country Radio. A big thanks to Jackie Phillips and the KCRT staff for putting on a great competition. I will now advance to the Colorado State Finales, being held on Sep 6, 2015, at Copper Mountain, CO.

In other news, I've helped launch a new country music project and band, called The LDK Band. We're gearing up to begin regular shows, our first being at Felice's Pizzeria, in Pueblo, CO; Thursdays, Aug 13, from 7 to 10 PM. They've got a great dance floor, so come on out and join the fun! We've also been in the recording studio working on our first LDK originals. Stay tuned by following us on Facebook. Big things are a comin'!

05/12/2013: Just in time for Mothers' Day...

I just posted my newest song titled, "Momma Fix It". The song is available to listen to on the music player here on my homepage.  As usual, it is jointly produced by myself and the ever-talented Terry Fulwider, of The Blue Spot Studios in Smyrna, GA.  This song is a tribute to my own mother, Marilyn, who passed away last September.  While my dad was an engineer before he retired, if something broke we always took it to Mom.  Whether it was a broken toy, a broken bone, or a broken heart, she was "Momma Fix-It"!  I hope you'll give it a listen and, if you like it, will share it with the special women in your life that holds the exulted title, "momma".

03/07/2013: Just Finished another song!

Still busy in the studio, working on new music.  This newest song is titled, "I Ain't Done Holding You". The song is available to listen to on the music player here on my homepage.  The song is jointly produced by myself and Terry Fulwider, of The Blue Spot Studios in Smyrna, GA.  Like the song, "Everything Else", it features Lynn McLemore providing the background vocals.  The song tribute to my mother, who passed away this last September is our current project.  It is called, "Momma Fix It" and I hope to have it complete by then end of March.

01/27/2013: Another Year, another song!

I've been in the studio working on new music lately.  The most recently completed song is called, "Everything Else". The song is available to listen to on the music player here on my homepage.  The song is jointly produced by myself and Terry Fulwider, of The Blue Spot Studios in Smyrna, GA.  It features the beautiful and talented Lynn McLemore providing the background vocals.  We're currently working on another song called, "I Ain't Done Holding You", and I hope to have a cut to share with you soon.  I'm also working on a song tribute to my mother, who passed away this last September.

07/06/2012: New Song Being Released in Radio Promotion!

The third song to be released off of album #2 is going out to radio stations across the country and around the world this week.  Given the political nature of this year, it seemed only fitting that that song is, "We Surround Them".  A fan-produced video is linked on the Music Page, but a new, official music video is in production, and will be out shortly.  In the meantime, the song can be downloaded at CDBaby.

02/08/12: Music Video of "Not Today"!

I've posted a music video for "Not Today" on my home page here and on YouTube.  While I still hope to have a more polished and professional video shot, this'll do for now.  Hope you enjoy it.

01/13/12: New Song, "Not Today"!

I've now put up my new song, called "Not Today.  It is a tribute to the Patriot Guard Riders (PGR). The PGR are a group of Harley-riding patriots who began showing up at the funerals of our service members (always with their permission), whenever the West Burrow Baptist Church protesters tried to protest at the funeral. The PGR riders would interpose themselves between these loathsome protestors and the grieving family of the deceased soldier, forming a solid wall of US flags and occasionally revving a hog engine to drown out the hateful chants of the protesters.

Since then, the PGR has grown to almost 250,000 members, and acts as honor guards at any vet's funeral where the family asks for them. They also run a "Help on the Homefront" effort, organizing activities at veteran's homes and hospitals. They are at every major departure of a deploying military unit, and at every homecoming.  My hope is to set up a charity fund, such that all profits from the sale of downloads of "Not Today" will go to benefit the families of departed service members.

This song and the rest of my released music is available for purchase (CD's and download) at:

CDBaby.com

If you're a radio station, you can download the song for free at Airplay Direct.

12/22/11: Merry Christmas!

Hey, ya'll! Just wanted to add a wish that all my family, friends, and fans will have a very merry Christmas.  The newest song from album #2 we're pushing out to radio is, "Under a California Moon."  If you're a parent, and have lived through sending your first child out into the world, this song is dedicated to you.

Also, very shortly, I'll be putting up a brand new song for people to listen to.  It is a tribute to the Patriot Guard Riders, and it's called, "Not Today." The PGR are a group of Harley-riding patriots who began showing up at the funerals of our service members (always with their permission), whenever the West Burrow Baptist Church protesters tried to protest at the funeral. The PGR riders would interpose themselves between these loathsome protestors and the grieving family of the deceased soldier, forming a solid wall of US flags and occasionally revving a hog engine to drown out the hateful chants of the protesters.

For those who've been watching, "That Woman is a Cougar" has been on IndieWorld's Country Record Report Top-40 Country Chart for twelve consecutive weeks!  It has climbed every week, and now sits at NUMBER 4!  Not content, my record label, Colt Records of Nashville, will be releasing the next single off my upcoming album, a song called "Under a California Moon".  I hope you'll all give it a listen and tell me how you like it.  Better yet, contact your local radio station and ask them to play it. It should be available on Airplay Direct on Monday, 7 November, for radio stations to download.

08/11/11: "That Woman is a Cougar" D├ębuts on IndieWorld's Top-40!!!

More incredible news! "That Woman is a Cougar" just debuted on IndieWorld's Country Record Report, at Number 40!  Unlike the Independent Music Network, IndieWorld's Top-40 chart doesn't rely on any fan voting to determine chart position. Rather, it tracks several hundred national and international reporting stations, using playlist position and "spins" to determine chart position.  I want to thank everyone again for the continuing support.

08/05/11: "That Woman is a Cougar" Hits No. 1!!!

Well, it ain't exactly Billboard, but "That Woman is a Cougar" zoomed from #28 up to NUMBER ONE on The Independent Music Network's Top-30 Country Chart on Tuesday, 2 August! Thanks so much to all the fans who made it happen.

I hope you'll all continue to support the song by requesting it from your local radio station (they can download it at Airplay Direct) and by going again to IMN to vote for it again. Just follow this link , scroll down to "Rich Owen-That Woman is a Cougar" and click on it to register your vote. You can vote once per week from any specific IP address.

You can also now purchase an MP3 download of "That Woman is a Cougar" at CDBaby.com and it will shortly be available from iTunes, Amazon, and a host of other digital download venues.

07/24/11: New Music in the Works

I'm back working on some new music with The Blue Spot Studios in Nashville.  I'm very excited about the trio of new songs we're working on or soon to be working on. Two of the songs one songwriting awards at the CCMA this year.  It should be a couple of weeks until I've got something to share with you. Stay tuned.

06/12/11: Results of 2011 Colorado Country Music Association Awards

The 2011 Colorado Country Music Association (CCMA) held their annual awards in Las Animas, CO, on 12 June 2011.  I'm very pleased to report that my soon-to-be-released second album, "What's Left of My Heart", won New Country Album of the Year! I also won first place in the New Country Songwriting ("With Nothing at All") and Traditional Country ("I Know Your Face") categories.

04/12/11: Rich Owen Signs with Colt Records

I'm proud to announce that I have signed with COLT RECORDS of Nashville! Colt Records has been around since 1998, helping up and coming country artists break into the mainstream. The deal signed is a two-year contract to distribute and promote my upcoming album, "What's Left of My Heart" (WLoMH). I look forward to working closely with Colt founder J.K. Coltrain to take things to the next level. For those who've been patiently awaiting the release of WLoMH, I ask for just a little more patience. Hopefully you'll agree that the wait will be worth it.
